Key Responsibilities:

• Rally the troops by leading them on complex, multi-disciplinary projects and ushering them through the entire lifecycles.
• Instill a data-driven culture at Deep Red Ink.
Develop best practices and bench-marking initiatives to optimize the agency and streamline operations across all departments and move towards operational excellence.

Program Management for a Digital Growth Partner

Organization: Deep Red Ink | Time Period: Mar 2014-Aug 2015

*Currently, part of the Executive Leadership team of Deep Red Ink Consulting and leading its Operations function. As Employee #1 of this 20 member startup, I’ve closely viewed the organization’s growth for over 3 years.

After 4 years in business, Deep Red Ink was looking to scale and to meet this objective, the organizational structure was revamped and I was chosen to work in the Operations/Program management domain to meet the goal of operational excellence, which had become the biggest challenge for Deep Red Ink.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop best practices and bench-marking initiatives to optimize the agency and streamline operations across all departments and move towards operational excellence.
• Have a bird’s-eye view of all the projects the organization is working on and look to improve efficiency and productivity by removing roadblocks and ensuring projects and tasks are appropriately resourced.

Promoted to the Senior Management/Executive Leadership of Deep Red Ink Consulting after growing through the ranks of this Digital Consultancy. Currently, part of the 5 member Executive Leadership team at Deep Red Ink. As Employee #1 of this 23 member startup, I have helped build the organization for over 3 years. And, along the way I took up almost every role that came my way and built a diverse skillset.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Founder @ FailFest

Organization: FailFest | Time Period: May 2013-Present

FailFest is a fun and engaging forum that celebrates learnings from failure. FailFest is an initiative to change the conversation around Failure. In short, it is all about celebrating lessons from Failure to inspire stories of success. It is about emphasizing on the learnings from failure and celebrating them, instead of treating them as unfortunate setbacks.

I led FailFest’s overall Operations, Branding, Social Media Marketing and Event Management.

Founder @ Zwah

Organization: Zwah | Time Period: Jan 2012 – Present

Zwah is an indie youth clothing brand, selling a line of persona-centric designer graphic t-shirts.

T shirts are the best forms of personal expression. What one wears is a direct reflection of their attitude & persona. However, it’s not easy buy T- shirts that reflect one’s true persona. At Zwah, the Tees have been designed keeping in mind the common personas of most people.

I led the Strategy and Marketing functions at Zwah.

MANAGEMENT CONSULTING

All Purpose Consulting for a Social Enterprise startup

Organization: Center for Social Sciences | Time Period: May 2014-Nov 2014

Center for Social Sciences (CSS) is a social enterprise startup that aims to bring about social impact through social & political platform. CSS’ key focus areas are Research, Capacity Building, Planning, Data Analysis, Data Collection & Surveys.

I consulted the organization in the areas of Strategy, Web & Social Media, Hiring, Video Production and Marketing.

Brand Strategy Consulting for a new Real Estate player

Organization: Deep Red Ink | Time Period: Nov 2012 – Jul 2013

During the course of its startup journey, Deep Red Ink evolved into a niche organization that thrived on its growing expertise of Strategy Consulting & Digital Marketing to create business results for clients across real-estate, health-care, education and retail. After a successful stint in Social Media, I was put on Consulting duty for a client project, where I worked closely with the client’s creative agency to build its new brand. Parallelly, I worked on the internal branding of Deep Red Ink.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work with Client & its vendors to develop assets and tools, in terms of creatives, branding & identity, advertising; all aligning to the strategy of the project.
• Lead Internal Branding & Organizational Learning initiatives of the organization

Major Achievements:
• Co-created the road-map for the project with the Client and relevant partners through workshops and brainstorming sessions.
• Designed learning curriculum for the organization and conducted learning sessions for the organization on vital topics. Organized a major rebranding exercise.

Vital Learnings:
• Collaboration. By working with the Client and its partner agencies to develop the strategy for the project and implement it.
• Learnt the different components of the branding & identity process and applied it to Deep Red Ink during its rebranding exercise.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Social Media Mentoring for a Digital startup

Organization: Deep Red Ink | Time Period: Feb 2012 – Oct 2012

Deep Red Ink was an ecology founded in 2010 by 6 ‘dreamers’. Deep Red Ink started off as a “concept business” which existed to support great ideas driven by passionate entrepreneurs and in 2011, it acquired Dot Now Social. I became the first employee at Deep Red Ink and helped build it into a Strategic Communications agency with expertise in Web technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
• Use social media to engage with clients’ consumers to raise brand awareness/generate leads/provide support/promote products/
• Create learning systems/platforms around Social Media for internal team and identify emerging trends in the digital space

Major Achievements:
• Invited to speak at local forums to share Social Media success stories & failures
• Successfully conducted a summer Internship program on behalf of the organization, for students pursuing graduation.

Vital Learnings:
• Amassed industry knowledge across multiple sectors by developing content strategy for each client’s social media requirement
• Learnt to build and manage massive communities.(One of them being in excess of 25000.)

• Created a Social Media methodology for effective Social Media planning and engagement- LPEM
• Identified emerging trends/best practices in the digital space and implemented on client projects

• Learnt to build and manage massive communities, organically (without Paid advertising) across a variety of sectors: Education, Real-estate and Healthcare

Fundraising for Twestival Hyderabad

Parent Organization: Twestival | Time Period: Jan 2011-Mar 2011

The Twestival (or Twitter-Festival) is the largest grassroots social media fundraising initiative in the world. This global movement uses social media for social good, empowering communities around the world to organize one-of-a-kind offline events in support of a great local cause of their choice.

I led the fund-raising efforts for this event and helped raise over Rs 2,90,000 and impacted more than 110 underprivileged children.

Facilitation of Social Media for Democracy Conference

Parent Organization: COVA, FES, MICCIDot Now Social | Time Period: Mar 2012

In 2012, Social Media had grown much beyond the simple & friendly interactions on Facebook & Twitter. It has become the most potent tool for reaching out to the masses & spreading awareness about various issues. Keeping this in mind, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, MICCI, COVA & Dot Now Social came up with a 2 day conference on the Role of Social Media in Democracy on Mar 24,25 at Hyderabad. The event was aimed at social entrepreneurs, media persons, thought leaders, changemakers, Social media enthusiasts & pros, students and active citizens.

I represented Dot Now Social and led the Event Planning, Coordination and Facilitation for this conference.

Digital Strategy for a Non-Profit

Digital strategy, Social media consulting, Advising on new ideas for engagement with youth using the web.

COVA (Confederation of Voluntary Organizations) works towards a society that is free from conflict and violence, promotes inclusive outlook, assures peaceful coexistence and ensures equal opportunities and social justice for all.

Key Account Management for a Award-winning Digital Agency

Organization: Deep Red Ink | Time Period: Aug 2013 – Feb 2014

Deep Red Ink, now an award-winning workplace was finding it challenging to manage its growing client base. I, being the senior-most employee (after the directors) stepped into this role of Client servicing for the key clients of Deep Red Ink. During my tenure, I worked on accounts from Real Estate, Building Materials and Clothing.

Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a client point-of-contact for all day-to-day projects.
• Supervise campaign/project execution across social media, search, display networks, email and mobile

Major Achievements:
• Developed new business within existing accounts. Managed to get an increased retainer for the three accounts I was handling.
• Managed difficult client/internal team situations with an emphasis on creating win-win solutions. Helped transform the culture of the team from ‘reactive’ to ‘proactive’

Vital Learnings:
• Learnt to develop effective relationships with customers based on empathy and trust.
• Fine-tuned my organizational & account management skills and learnt to create project related documentation like Business Proposals, Communication Plans, Reports, Joblists, etc

Organization: Dot Now Social | Time Period: Sep 2010- Mar 2011

Dot Now Social (now acquired by Deep Red Ink) was a pioneering social media agency in Hyderabad, India (estd. 2009). It enabled enterprises and non-profits to harness the power of social media and other Web 2.0 technologies

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, manage and execute a business development strategy to develop and grow potential clients and existing client relationships.
• Discover upcoming tools & trends, identify opportunities for learning, growth and collaboration in the social media space- locally & globally.

Major Achievements:
• Re-started operations of the dormant startup and rebuilt it’s web presence across multiple channels and platforms.
• Enabled smooth transition for the organization and its stakeholders during and after the acquisition.

Vital Learnings:
• Learnt the nuances of Strategy, Social Media & Business Development
• Became well-versed with different social media platforms, community building & engagement strategies and other web 3.0 technologies.

 

UNDERGRAD VENTURES

Chairperson @ ACM Student Chapter, MJCET

Parent Organization: Association for Computing Machinery | Time Period: 2008-2010

ACM is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society. It delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. ACM-MJCET was founded by the Information Technology department of MJCET.

I commenced operations for ACM’s Student Chapter at Muffakham Jah College of Engineering & Technology (MJCET). Starting out as the Secretary and then – Chairperson of ACM-MJCET. During my tenure, I launched ACM-MJCET’s first student magazine- InfoVogue and also the department’s first Technical Fest- Blitzkrieg.

Deputy Chief Coordinator @ Entrepreneurship Cell, MJCET

Parent Organization: National Entrepreneurship Network | Time Period: 2008-2010

Entrepreneurship Cell MJCET is a student Advocacy group that encourages Entrepreneurship on the campus, through various events and activities. ECell MJCET strives to build on values such as Initiative, Leadership, Innovation, Excellence and Integrity among the students.

I have been a part of ECell from its nascent stages. As a member of the Executive Body of Entrepreneurship Cell, I headed the Strategy and Marketing functions of the organization. Another aspect of my role included Recruitment of new members and Mentoring the selected members.

During my tenure, ECell MJCET were crowned Champions of National Entrepreneurship Week India (in 2009) and finished Runners-up of E-Week India (in 2008).

Founder & Editor @ InfoVogue, MJCET

Parent Organization: Information Technology Department, MJCET | Time Period: 2009-2010

Under the aegis of Information Technology department and ACM-MJCET, I launched InfoVogue- the department’s first ever student magazine in 2009.  I built a small Editorial team and we came out with the first edition in Aug 2009.
